Job Summary

Telecom Design Engineer III, Sprint Corporation, Reston, VA

Research, design, plan, develop and evaluate new, advanced network technologies by translating requirements or strategic business objectives into final product design for projects that are highly complex. Provide in-depth assessment of the networked application needs, provide network modeling and simulation testing, consult to further clarify needs, and engineer high-speed technology network transports to deliver application functionality. Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot multi-vendor network devices (routers and switches), specifically Cisco ASR9k series, Cisco 12000 series, Cisco Nexus family (7000 series, 5000 series & 2000 series), Juniper MX-960, MX-80 and MX-240 platforms. Configure, audit, and maintain firewall security policies, specifically Juniper SRX-3600, SRX-5800, Netscreen 2000 series platforms, and Infoblox for DNS. Must be able to capture and analyze advance troubleshooting and call-flow characterization efforts using Wireshark analyzing tool. Use professional concepts, and apply company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues. Work on problems of complex scope where analysis of situations or data require a review of a variety of factors.

Basic Qualifications
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or
related, plus 4 years of experience. Experience must include: demonstrated experience with network
application needs, network modeling and simulation testing, and engineering high-speed technology
network transports to deliver application functionality, including one-year project management and
project implementation experience. Requires Cisco Professional Certifications: CCNA, CCNP, and CCDP.
