Job Summary

RF Engineer III, Sprint Corporation, San Ramon CA

Provide radio frequency (RF) and/or wireless transmission design. Design, plan and oversee installation and maintenance of LTE wireless radio communications systems, including radio propagation modeling and prediction, microwave path analysis, interference analysis, frequency coordination, cell site equipment layout, parameter definition, and ancillary equipment. Use analytical methods and tools to troubleshoot and optimize network perform to meet KPI targets. Use skills as an experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures. Resolve a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways. Interact with the transport teams to ensure designs meet budgetary and performance requirements. Work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Interact with senior internal and external personnel. Comply with Sprint’s Driver Safety Policy and guidelines.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field plus five years related work experience. Experience should include: three years RF engineering experience working with radio communications systems, including radio propagation modeling and prediction, microwave path analysis, interference analysis, frequency coordination, cell site equipment layout and parameter definition. Two years project management and project implementation experience. Demonstrated experience in CDMA and EvDO Access, HO and Capacity management optimization, multi band LTE traffic management techniques, OFDMA air interface for TDD and FDD, OEM RAN specific experience with Samsung, ALU, Nokia, Ericsson on both 3G and 4G networks and detailed Layer 3 Drive test data analysis to drive network optimization and performance improvement. Experience must also include GIS based analysis, RF Propagation Model Tuning including measurement integration, Microwave Path Modeling concepts, Mapinfo, Planet, Atoll, XCAL, XCAP or Windcatcher. Experience in Planet and Atoll based ACP design and implementation.
