Job Summary

Manages a team of people who spearhead cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of a product from design to customer release. Develops, defines and executes project plans, schedules, budgets and deliverables. Identifies needed resources for projects, defines and assigns major project roles. Monitors the product/program/project from initiation through delivery, interfacing with external customers or field-based employees on technical matters, as needed. Recommends changes to policies and establishes procedures that affect immediate organization(s). Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends. Follows processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Often must lead a cooperative effort among members of a project team. Manages the activities of individual contributors or supervisors in a section or department with accountability for goals, objectives, operational policies. May participate in the development of functional strategy. Has responsibility for hiring, termination, performance and salary decisions.
The Manager, Product Development for Managed Solutions will be responsible for the full lifecycle development of the Managed Solutions portfolio, anchor to the value-added services beyond core connectivity that Sprint offers. The portfolio includes managed WAN, SD-Wan, managed CPE, the full Managed Security suite, and next-gen applications of fully managed as-a-service offers. The Managed Solutions portfolio will help Sprint's customers quickly adapt to the changing needs of their business by giving them a flexible, agile, secure, and managed network.

Key responsibilities:
  • Accountable for end-to-end ownership of assigned product portfolio.
  • Develops business cases for new products or new product features to quantify demand, sales targets and adoption metrics.
  • Responsible for the complete product development process for bringing a new product to market, including defining customer requirements, defining technical product specifications, product documentation, and training content for sales and technical teams.
  • Ensures the products in-market meet customer requirements and new products delivered meet the specifications provided.
  • Requires working with cross-functional teams and partnering closely with Product Marketing, Network, Care, and IT for successful execution.
  • Delivers product use cases, white papers and customer success stories.
  • Drives product adoption.
  • Owns product revenue plans for portfolio of products assigned. Guides preparation of revenue status reports. Supplies key drivers of revenue and results to demonstrate full knowledge of product portfolio.
  • Provides product activity reports, including sales pipeline and product adoption metrics and presents to executive management. Guides preparation of product activity reports.
  • Achieves satisfactory product revenue and product adoption based on preset targets and metrics in relation to industry adoption and industry sales trends, as established in the product business case.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with vendors and key strategic partners.
  • Monitors competitor products, sales and marketing activities.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and eight years related work experience or twelve years related work experience post high school
  • Three years supervisory or management experience

  • MBA or Advanced Technical Degree
