Job Summary

RF Engineer II, Sprint Corporation, Tampa, FL

Provide radio frequency (RF) and/or wireless transmission design. Design, plan and oversee installation and maintenance of wireless radio communications systems, including radio propagation modeling and prediction, microwave path analysis, interference analysis, frequency coordination, cell site equipment layout, parameter definition, performance monitoring and optimization. Serves as technical resource for the market RF Engineering group responsible for overall development, expansion, and maintenance of the market. Must be able to work effectively with others and have good interpersonal skills. Must be highly organized and work well under pressure. Comply with Sprint’s Driver Safety Policy and guidelines.


Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications or Electrical Engineering or related field plus two years related work experience. Experience should include: one-year RF engineering work experience working with radio communications systems, including radio propagation modeling and prediction, microwave path analysis, interference analysis, frequency coordination, cell site equipment layout and parameter definition. One-year project management and project implementation experience; direct experience providing optimization service for CDMA, EVDO, WiMAX, LTE and LTE Advanced technologies; experience with wireless infrastructure provider and/or operator. Must be proficient with Operational Support Systems (OSS) including NETACT (Nokia), OSS-RC/AMOS (Ericsson) and LSM/WSM (Samsung) and the support of multi-band and multi-vendor deployment and optimization of cell sites in 800 MHz, 1900 MHz and 2.5 GHz Bands. Experience with design, deployment, performance monitoring and optimization activities for Radio Access Network including search ring creation, candidate review, Radio Frequency Data Sheet creation, site launch, site walks, RF surveys, drive testing and post processing, evaluation of Key Performance Indicators, and proficiency with traffic and mobility management. Experience designing, integrating and optimizing heterogeneous network that includes macro cells, small cells and femto cells. In-building experience with optimization and capacity augments to improve performance and balance traffic. Experience with RF related tools: XCAL, TEMS, WindCatcher, Atoll, Tableau, Map Info, Google Earth.
