Job Summary

RF Engineer III, Sprint Corporation, Livonia, MI


Provide radio frequency (RF) and/or wireless transmission design. Design, plan and oversee installation and maintenance of wireless radio communications systems, including radio propagation modeling and prediction, microwave path analysis, interference analysis, frequency coordination, cell site equipment layout, parameter definition, and ancillary equipment. Conduct KPI Performance Monitoring and optimization for LTE sites. Work to improve network performance and user experience. Use skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures. Resolve a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways. Work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Interact with senior internal and external personnel. Coordinate and work with Sprint contractors as per Market deliverable and project requirements such as LTE expansion, 3G harvest and port remapping. Comply with Sprint’s Driver Safety Policy and guidelines


Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field and five years related work experience. Related experience should include: RF engineering experience working with radio communications systems, including radio propagation modeling and prediction, microwave path analysis, interference analysis, cell site equipment layout and parameter definition; GSM or UMTS experience (design, optimization and capacity); CDMA, LTE, and EVDO experience (design, optimization and capacity); Glance, Tableau, Patrol (or similar tool), FTP-Winscp, Unix, X-Cap, XCAL; Google Earth planning and optimization, MapInfo Professional Planning and Optimization; Streets and Trips Planning and Optimization; Project implementation experience; Multi-spectrum optimization, Small cell optimization, Frequency planning and carrier aggregation optimization strategies; BSM, LSM.
