Job Summary

Researches, designs, plans, develops and/or evaluates new, advanced network technologies by translating customer requirements or strategic business objectives into final product design for projects of highest complexity and multiple technologies. Work typically includes in-depth assessment of the customer's networked application needs, providing network modeling and simulation testing, consulting to further clarify needs, and engineering high-speed technology network transports to deliver application functionality. Uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve very complex issues in creative and effective ways.
The engineer will be responsible for 4G RAN Field Testing (FIT) to primarily work on development of test strategies, test requirements, test planning, test case design, test environment configuration, test execution, issue root cause analysis, issue resolution validation and test reporting. The engineer will be required to review detailed LTE design and participate in test strategy development. The engineer will develop a test requirements matrix, test cases and define the test environment. The engineer will be required to work with all required Sprint and Vendor personnel to ensure the FIT cluster/environment is implemented to specifications and define/request test equipment and test devices. The engineer will log all issues, work with vendors to isolate root cause and validate issue resolutions. For all job responsibilities, the engineer will be required to collaborate with LTE Radio Access Network (RAN) architects, developers, testers, lab personnel, FIT personnel & engineering staff and vendors.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and four years related work experience or eight years related work experience post high school
  • Three years experience with research, design, planning and development of new advanced network technologies, network components and radio frequency (RF) and/or wireless transmission
  • Two years project management and project implementation experience
