Job Summary

Develops cost-effective information technology solutions by creating new and modifying existing software applications. Analyzes systems requirements, existing business processes and information systems. Codes, tests, and debugs documents, and implements software applications that are more complex with full competency.
The Apps Developer works with Sprint University creative teams to design and develop next generation learning applications. Designs, develops, enhances new enterprise video content management platform to empower content authoring, integrates with existing and new Sprint applications, provides optimal user experience which improves user access, retention, and performance. Executes Sprint University machine learning strategy - capturing user activity and leverages multiple metadata sources to recommend most relevant learning content.

Duties include:
  • Application design and development - enterprise video content management system
  • Evaluates technologies and recommend.
  • Responsible for server-side development.
  • Manage cloud hosted web services applications.
  • Manage cloud hosted web services infrastructure.
  • Works with IT, Corporate Security, business units to integrate SAaS with existing Sprint applications.
  • Collaborates closely with project teams to translate requirements into solutions - works closely with creative team
  • Ensures deadlines are met by working effectively under pressure and proactively communicating with stakeholders and team members
  • Ensures business continuity through code documentation, mentoring, job shadowing.
Works equally as well in a team environment and individually.

The person will manage a variety of projects, taking initiative and being proactive. Works with cross-functional team members to gather the information and resources needed to start and complete each project phase.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and two years related work experience or six years related work experience post high school
  • Two years systems development experience
  • Two years coding experience
  • Two years software application experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years post degree software design and development experience
  • 5+ years database design and administration
  • Experience navigating corporate policies and processes
  • BS Computer Science or equivalent work experience
  • Project leadership experience
  • 5+ web development experience - JSON, REST
  • Experience/comfort working in an Agile development team
  • Experience with AWS or similar
  • Experience with machine learning
  • Experience with SAML
  • Experience designing for and integrating federated search
  • Experience with JSON-LD
  • Experience with web video (FFMPG, transcoding, HLS, encrypted video)
  • Experience working with creative team
  • Experience building analytics reporting tools
  • Experience with LMS standards (SCORM, XAPI, LTI)
