Job Summary

Provides management of the submission, processing and compliance of legal demands for all business units received from local and state law enforcement agencies and courts, and coordinates the recovery of costs for these services. Performs in the capacity of Custodian of Records for customer information, providing court testimony in local, state and federal courts. Reviews court orders and search warrant requests from law enforcement and other federal, state, and local court officials to ensure validity of orders and compliance with applicable laws. Queries the company's internal information systems to verify and extract requested information.
Current member of the Legal Compliance Group in Corporate Security preferred. This position will be located in Overland Park, KS Headquarters.

This position supports Corporate Security Legal Compliance and specializes in analyzing information from many sources, drawing accurate conclusions and providing detailed reports of findings. Its primary role is as Custodian of Records for Sprint, providing foundational witness testimony concerning customer records, company policy and telecommunications technology. The Subpoena Analyst II will testify in federal and state courts around the country on Sprint’s behalf and therefore the position requires extensive travel, occasionally with little notice. Additional duties will include compiling responses to requests for records, communicating with law enforcement and/or attorneys and participating in special projects as needed.

The qualified candidate will have strong oral and written communications skills and be comfortable presenting technical information to audiences of various position and technical ability. S/he will also be proficient in Sprint business systems and support software such as STS, Ensemble, CIS, NDW, Bill Images, Business Objects, EngDW and Nextel CDR records.

The ideal candidate will have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
  • Strong project management, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently, as a team member and as a leader.
  • Must be able to multi-task while handling conflicting priorities/deadlines, be able to make decisions quickly and work with little supervision.
  • Ability to travel up to 80% of working time to include overnights and weekends.
  • Present technical information to a wide variety of audiences and adjust presentation style to their technical level.
  • Ability to testify in federal and state courts around the country on Sprint’s behalf.
Excellent oral and written communications skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to a non-technical audience. Superior presentation skills.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and two years related work experience or six years related work experience post high school
  • Two years subpoena compliance experience
  • U.S. Citizenship (without dual citizenship)

Preferred Qualifications
The following are preferred qualifications but are not required of the job:
  • Specialized advanced vocational skills acquired and typically gained through a combination of education and relevant work experience totaling 7 years post-high school or equivalent.
  • One year minimum experience in using STS, Ensemble, CIS, NDW, Customer bill images, Business Objects, EngDW and Nextel CDR records.
  • One year minimum experience analyzing information for investigative purposes.
  • One year minimum experience dealing with Law Enforcement Agencies and attorneys.
  • One year minimum experience with the criminal and civil court process.
  • One year minimum experience in giving testimony, depositions, and other legal activities.
  • One year minimum experience knowledge of CDMA and IDEN network technologies and the different platforms associated with both.
  • Current member of the Legal Compliance Group in Corporate Security preferred
