Job Summary

RF Engineer II, Sprint Corporation, Overland Park, KS

Provide radio frequency (RF) and/or wireless transmission design. Design, plan and oversee installation and maintenance of wireless radio communications systems, including radio propagation modeling and prediction, microwave path analysis, interference analysis, frequency coordination, cell site equipment layout, parameter definition, and ancillary equipment. Resolve a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways. Work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Work on Multi-vendor MW equipment including Dragonwave, Huawei, Ceragon, and Fastback. Perform MW design using Pathlos 5, Atoll, IBR Predict. Forecast network/equipment needs and recommend appropriate configurations. Resolve complex maintenance problems. Monitor traffic flows to ensure call delivery optimization. Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Interact with senior internal and external personnel. Comply with Sprint’s Driver Safety Policy and guidelines.


Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field plus two years related work experience. Experience should include: RF engineering work with radio frequency propagation, microwave path analysis, microwave propagation analysis LOS, nLOS, and NLOS; Samsung Dragon wave, Fastback, and Ceragon; Interference analysis, frequency coordination and cell site parameters; 4G and LTE systems and optimization; Multi band LTE traffic management techniques; GIS based analysis; OEM RAN; OFDMA air interface for FDD and TDD LTE Technologies; Detailed Layer 3 Drive test data analysis to drive network optimization and performance improvement Wind Catcher, XCAP, TEMS, or similar network measurement/optimization tools; Path loss tool, and IBR tools.
