Provides radio frequency (RF) and/or wireless transmission design. Designs, plans and oversees installation and maintenance of wireless radio communications systems, including radio propagation modeling and prediction, microwave path analysis, interference analysis, frequency coordination, cell site equipment layout, parameter definition, and ancillary equipment. Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures. Resolves a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Interacts with senior internal and external personnel.
Serve as the technical resource for the market RF Engineering group, responsible for the overall deployment, expansion, and maintenance of the market. Participate in radio network design tuning and optimization activities; design, tune and optimize high capacity wireless CDMA, EVDO and LTE networks using RF engineering technology. Use engineering tools such as cell planning tools, drive test data collection and post-processing tools, and network performance statistics monitoring and analysis tools; analyze network traffic and statistical information and provide recommendations for improvement; implement radio network features. Prepare and review site configuration based on site survey data and traffic forecast; prepare and review cell and frequency plans and cell design data.Must have valid driver's license, three consecutive years of active driving history, successfully complete driver's safety training, and otherwise comply with Sprint's Driver Safety Policy and guidelines.
Experience must include: record of providing technical leadership on complex RF optimization projects, and translating complex technical program requirements into concrete action plans; use of Windcatcher RF analysis software to troubleshoot LTE network performance, and use of measured RF data to identify opportunities for performance improvement on LTE networks. Ability to: independently manage complex RF Engineering projects from initial design through deployment; conduct RF propagation model tuning activities, and run complex RF analysis to establish market pole point for LTE based networks; collect, analyze, and assemble documentation to satisfy Federal RF exposure requirements. Demonstrated fluency with Mentum Planet RF prediction software. Demonstrated expertise with Agilent and PC-Tel RF collection software and hardware.
