Job Summary

Researches, designs, plans, develops and/or evaluates new, advanced network technologies by translating requirements or strategic business objectives into final product design for projects of moderate complexity. Work typically includes in-depth assessment of the networked application needs, providing network modeling and simulation testing, consulting to further clarify needs, and engineering high-speed technology network transports to deliver application functionality. Uses professional concepts, and applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues. Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
This position has responsibility for testing and integrating Sprint's Transport/DWDM platforms. This includes:
1) DWDM Test Case/Plan Development
2) Hands on implementation of test plan implementation and installations/removals
3) Release Note development
4) Identifying and resolving defects with hardware suppliers
5) Facilitate lab test progress reporting
6) Interface with Lab Operations team to define transport requirements
7) Manage lab test tools
8) Manage access to lab transport equipment
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or four years related work experience post high school
  • One year working with networked applications, network modeling and simulation testing, and engineering high-speed technology network transports to deliver application functionality
  • One year project management and project implementation experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • 3-5years experience working with DWDM Fiber/Transport Technology
  • Hands on experience in a lab environment
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
