Job Summary

Responsible for the maintenance and documentation of tax records and the preparation of all or specifically assigned moderate to complex tax returns and related reports by required deadlines. Tax returns could include federal, state, and local income tax, state general business and franchise taxes, and utility taxes. Maintains knowledge of all tax laws affecting the company and reviews and analyzes the impact of proposed tax laws. Reviews and analyzes contracts for tax implications. Assists in tax audits. Reviews proposals for tax implications and recommends actions that meet the business plans while managing the tax liability. May be involved with tax implications of mergers and acquisitions and/or international tax activities.
This position will include the following activities:
  • Assist with federal, state, and international tax planning initiatives
  • Assist with due diligence reviews related to business deals
  • Assist with debt maintenance requirements pursuant to §385
  • Analyze transactions and payments to vendors to ensure Sprint is compliant with withholding tax obligations and reporting requirements
  • Prepare U.S. tax returns for Sprint’s international entities (Forms 5471/8858/8865), and any related elections and/or disclosures
  • Prepare Sprint’s annual foreign tax credit calculation
  • Prepare quarterly tax accruals related to employee stock compensation
  • Prepare tax calculations and maintain documentation related to aircraft activity
  • Help Sprint’s global tax planning group with other projects/tasks upon request

                              Basic Qualifications
                              • Bachelor's degree and four years related work experience or eight years related work experience post high school
                              • Two years tax accounting experience

                              Preferred Qualifications
                              • CPA exam eligible
