Job Summary

Manages multiple supervisory groups and/or high level individual contributors who plan, design and implement networked systems of various scope and various degrees of complexity. Manages engineering services and project management functions required to develop and implement various network plans. Projects include technology changes within the platforms, new implementation guidelines and/or standards. Manages the analysis of switching, interconnection, national platforms and backbone facilities. Oversees project planning, cost analysis and vendor comparisons. Manages the activities of individual contributors or supervisors in a section or department with accountability for goals, objectives, operational policies. May participate in the development of functional strategy. Has responsibility for hiring, termination, performance and salary decisions.
Position will manage a team of employees responsible for site specific Hardware Engineering of the Radio Access Network (RAN). Work will include hardware engineering for new site deployment as well as upgrades to existing sites. The ability to lead a distributed workforce, domestically and internationally, across multiple suppliers is essential. Understanding of Engineering requirements and technical aptitude are highly preferred, as well as competency for material logistics from Bill of Materials to Kitting. Ability to network and communicate plans across several peer organizations is also essential.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and eight years related work experience or twelve years related work experience post high school
  • Five years network engineering experience
  • Three years project management and implementation experience
  • Three years experience with routers, bridges, concentrators and switches
  • Three years supervisory or management experience
