Job Summary

Applications Developer III, Sprint Corporation, Overland Park, Kansas

Develop cost-effective information technology solutions by creating new, and modifying existing, software applications. Analyze complex systems requirements, existing business processes, and information systems. Code, test, and debug, documents, and implement software applications. Undertake complex projects requiring additional specialized technical knowledge. Coordinate with users to determine requirements that are more complex. Run SQL and NoSQL scripts for analytics on large data sets. Build new and/or modify existing data warehousing and business intelligence solutions to meet business and system requirements through business requirements gathering, software component designing, coding, testing, and quality review. Write complex SQL and identify SQL optimization opportunities. Create tools to assist in monitoring and assessing new telecom systems & technologies. Develop unique insights in Per Call Measurement Data. Design and implement software programs to gather and report end-to-end performance data to quantify customer experience and network performance. Design and implement databases to store historical network data for analyzing patterns in network performance. Develop user friendly websites that effectively and intuitively present collected information to a diverse audience. Automate processes using software tools and scripts.


Basic Qualifications
Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field plus three years related work experience. In the alternative, the Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field plus five years related work experience. Experience should include: three years’ experience in systems development experience; three years’ coding experience; three years’ software application experience. Applicants must have experience in Java and J2EE related technologies, including Java, J2EE, JSP, JDBC, SPRING, XML, and XSD; design patterns; JBoss/Junit; Google mapping API and open source charting APIs; SDLC tools Eclipse IDE, Subversion, Jira, CI; processing of large data sets (terabytes of loads) and performing big data analytics using Hadoop, HBase, and Hive; business intelligence reporting/visualization tools; Massively Parallel Processing (MPP) Systems Teradata and Netezza; developing and consuming SOAP and Restful Web Services.
