Job Summary

Responsible for protecting Sprint's information assets, data, and other information through enforcement of Sprint's Information Security Policy. Responsible for research, design, development, implementation, and operation of extremely complex security solutions. Responsible for identifying potential information and network security risks and vulnerabilities. Communicates such risks at an Executive level, ensuring that all concerns are fully examined and documented. Drives solutions to mitigate risks and enhance Sprint's security posture.
This is a position for a Security Architect within Corporate Security. If hired, applicant will be engaged in various projects to identify and assess risks and vulnerabilities associated with network designs and architecture.
This person will handle architecture design / consulting for our core production LTE networks and related applications.
The Security Architect will provide security requirements to the business unit, and will help to provide understanding of those requirements and how they apply to the project or associated environments.
The Security Architect will consult with business unit associates to assess whether their designs are compliant with Sprint's security policies, industry best practices, regulatory and contractual requirements.

This person will also implement and maintain access controls for these environments and do yearly assessments to make sure the access controls are still compliant with Sprint’s security policies.

  • Work closely with functional-area architects, engineering, and security specialists to ensure adequate security solutions and controls are in place throughout all IT/OSS systems and platforms to mitigate identified risks sufficiently, and to meet business objectives and regulatory requirements;
  • Contributes to the development and maintenance of the information security strategy
  • Serve as a security expert in application development, database design, network and/or platform (operating system)efforts, helping project teams comply with enterprise and Sprint security policies, industry regulations, and best practices;
  • Researches, designs, and advocates new technologies, architectures, and security products that will support security requirements for the enterprise and its customers, business partners, and vendors;
  • Communicates security risks and solutions to business partners and IT and OSS staff;
  • A minimum of 8 years of IT experience.
  • Strong experience with a broad range of security technologies, including Next Generation Firewalls, Juniper SRX Firewall, Cisco ASA, DLP, IDS/IPS, IdAM, and cloud security.
  • Minimum of 8 years network architecture, design or engineering and related experience with Cisco and Juniper routers.
  • Evaluates and develops secure solutions, based on approved security architectures. Analyzes business impact and exposure, based on emerging security threats, vulnerabilities and risks.
  • Familiarity with widely-used tools for implementing and testing security infrastructures.
  • Strong experience with security strategy with a passion to make security realistic, achievable and interwoven with the business fabric;
  • Strong oral, written, and presentation abilities -able to convey risk to all levels of the business, from C-level executives to operations and development teams;

  • Knowledge of emerging cyber security technologies.
  • Understanding of technical, operational, and management issues related to design, development, and deployment of complex and distributed systems.
  • Understanding of interrelationships between critical infrastructure protection and cyber security.
  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to identify areas of focus and tackle new challenges with or without direction.
  • Ability to work within a dynamic and fast paced international environment
  • Ability to build rapport with other team members and relevant teams
  • Very good communications, presentation and negotiations skills

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and four years related work experience or eight years related work experience post high school
  • U.S. Citizenship (without dual citizenship)
  • Three years network or technical security experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Three years’ experience with law enforcement, intelligence, or public/private sector security organization
  • Some experience with Unix/Linux and Windows system administration;
  • Python scripting experience;
  • Some experience with databases technologies;
  • Some proven ability in security process and organizational design;
  • Current understanding of Industry trends and emerging threats; and knowledge of incident response methodologies and technologies.
