Job Summary

Conducts, or assists with conducting and documenting, simple to moderate internal finance audits and risk assessments. Verifies accuracy and ensures compliance with plans, policies and procedures prescribed by management. Assists in the preparation of reports to communicate audit results to management.
Auditors work on teams to perform independent assessments of Sprint’s financial, operational and IT processes. Serving Sprint’s management and the Audit Committee of Sprint’s Board of Directors, audit teams partner with client departments to analyze and solve critical business issues and seek opportunities to increase revenues, decrease costs and improve efficiencies. The results of the Auditors efforts serve as a catalyst for change throughout Sprint.

Through exposure to numerous business processes and organizations across the entire company, Auditors develop a global view of Sprint and the telecommunications industry. Audit teams are typically made up of 2-4 auditors. Each auditor is assigned to approximately 3-4 audits/projects per year and may require some travel of approximately 3-5% of the time. There is also an opportunity to work on special projects.

Auditors work with their teams to define approaches and set project plans for the audit in a fast paced environment. Auditors also use initiative and problem solving skills to assess and root cause processes. A key deliverable for an Auditor is written documentation including the creation of narratives and process flows summarizing processes, testing and conclusions.

Candidate should poses the following skills and attributes:
Ability to work in a fast paced environment leveraging key skillsets such as problem solving, initiative and action orientation
Ability to quickly grasp audit process and adapt to applying in various business areas
Self-motivated to deliver work product that contributes to a team work product
Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel ~5% (very limited, may include weekends)
  • Position is located in Overland Park, KS and not eligible for relocation benefits

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or four years related work experience post high school
  • One year analytical business experience

Preferred Qualifications
One or more years’ experience with data analytic tools (i.e., ACL, Microsoft Access, SQL)
  • CPA, CIA, CFE, or CISA professional certification encouraged (not required)
  • Related/Transferable Experience:
    • Strong data analytic experience
    • Finance/Accounting roles
    • Investigations or fraud analysis
    • Management in related fields
