Job Summary

Manages the activities involved in the design, preparation, delivery and needs assessment of training and development programs for the company. Develops and/or approves content, methods, and materials for training staff and may conduct courses. Develops methods for evaluation of program effectiveness. Leads cross functional meetings to collect information relevant to the content of instructional material under development. Often must lead a cooperative effort among members of a project team. Manages the activities of individual contributors with accountability for goals, objectives and operational policies. Participates in the development of functional strategy. Has responsibility for hiring, termination, performance and salary decisions.
This position will be a member of the Sprint University lead team reporting directly to the Director, Sprint University. The position oversees the training delivery function across Sprint including delivery operations & logistics, training delivery & implementation for frontline organizations, trainer certification program and general training delivery. This position will manage other managers and will need to have demonstrated success leading, coaching and setting performance expectations.

Preference location is Overland Park, KS Campus.

Successful candidates will need to have the following competencies:
  • Sound judgment/informed decisions by utilizing root cause analysis, metrics, analysis reporting to improve performance and setting priorities.
  • Customer focused - approaches planning with the end user at the front of the analysis, frequent communications/updates to provide high service levels, removes barriers
  • Executional excellence - sets clear objectives, drives accountability, motivates others, rewards and recognizes performance, monitors progress and success measures for the client
  • Influence and communication - involve others in decision making process, uses insights, data and learning expertise to influence program direction and communicates in a clear/compelling way.
  • Ability to adapt and learn - change agent who effectively operates during times of adversity and able to manage competing priorities
  • Builds strong relationships - builds trust quickly collaborative approach, relates well to others and networks to expand impact

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and eight years related work experience or twelve years related work experience post high school
  • Five years experience developing instructional materials and specialized training
  • Five years experience with project management and project implementation
  • Three years supervisory or management experience

Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree or advanced education
HPT certification or other adult learning/human performance certification
