Job Summary

Plans and implements projects that support the marketing function. Interacts directly with product managers to identify new marketing opportunities, prepares regular marketing activity reports and responds to questions from the sales organization. Works individually or with a team in recommending action, scheduling and planning projects, estimating cost and managing projects to completion. May identify, evaluate and recommend marketing opportunities consistent with product line objectives. Responsibilities may also include: coordinating trade show activities, website development, developing future e-commerce strategies, and tracking of marketing campaigns to evaluate results and provide recommendations for future marketing promotions.

The Marketing Manager will implement cross-channel marketing programs which deliver gross adds for the Assurance Wireless prepaid wireless business. The manager leads the implementation of direct-to-consumer marketing campaigns to acquire consumers with voice and data offers, promotions and devices which deliver superior value to lifeline customers. The Manager is accountable for delivering of targeted acquisition goal and within a defined budget.

Responsibilities include development of new offers, implementing new programs, and managing cross-functional teams including product realization, legal, sales, and external partners and vendors. Acquisition campaigns may leverage a mix of mobile/text, video, direct mail, web, email, search, social media and targeted mass media (radio, DRTV, print). Critical to the role is execution of search, email, and leveraging social media channels (i.e. Facebook, etc). Also important is measuring, tracking and optimizing each program’s performance, and executing marketing trials.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Ability to work in a face paced, highly regulated environment
  • Knowledge of lifeline regulations, products and services, and competitors
  • Knowledge of telecommunications business, preferably prepaid wireless
  • Experience working with external partners, vendors and executing programs
  • Experience in multiple marketing disciplines including mobile, direct response, digital, and website design
  • Strong communications skills including experience communicating with upper level management
  • Results oriented, goal driven, enjoys working hard to realize objectives

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and four years related work experience or eight years related work experience post high school
  • Three years experience working with marketing policies and procedures

Preferred Qualifications
  • Ten years’ experience in marketing with focus on telecommunications and mobile devices
  • Ten years’ experience in digital, partnership and mobile marketing
  • SEO/SEM, email, social media advertising and tactics
  • Familiarity with permission marketing and customer privacy issues
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office product suite
  • Strong communications, analytical and project management skills
