Job Summary

Drives the evolution of system platforms, procedures, and system design to maximize productivity and profitability while minimizing overall cost to the corporation. May serve in the following capacities: Systems Domain Architect, Application Development Facilitation and/or Technology Strategist. Works on multiple projects and solves the most complex and/or ambiguous technology issues. Responsible for the identification and introduction of new, emerging technologies that will be an integral part of Sprint's success and sets strategic architectural direction for the enterprise. Leverages technical skills and an in depth understanding of the business to provide creative solutions to challenging business problems. Effectively communicates and influences the highest levels of executive management on the strategic direction of IT. Works independently with little to no guidance from management. May manage the tasks and activities of individual contributors, vendors/partners, and consultant labor. Coaches and guides others.
Systems Domain Architect
Develop integrated technology solutions through joint planning/collaboration with Account Management, development teams, IT Solutions Architects, vendors and key IT/Business partners in support of Sprint's strategic business and financial goals.

The individual will possess knowledge of multiple core Sprint IT systems enabling the ability to lead companywide integration activities which bring new business functionality to the organization or have far reaching impacts to business operations.

Application Development Facilitation
Understands both the technical and business aspects of software development.

Technology Strategist
Regularly reviews current trends in IT and the telecom industry, assesses applicability to Sprint's environments/applications and provides overviews and recommendations for change/improvements to help drive strategic direction and drive the implementation of the final solution.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and eight years related work experience or twelve years related work experience post high school
  • Five years project management and project implementation experience
  • Two years experience working with the identification and adoption of emerging technologies

Preferred Qualifications
  • Seven years technical experience specializing in technology architecture concerns
  • 5 years Java Experience
  • 5 Years Integration experience (XML/XSD, SOAP/REST)
  • 5 Years Database experience (in any of the following technologies) Oracle, DB2, Microsoft SQL, MySQL, Postgres
  • 3 Years Mulesoft experience a plus
