Job Summary

Works with supply chain services, inventory control, critical parts availability, material handling, import-export licensing, shipment of products, and third-party warehousing. Evaluates customer support and field service commitments to ensure customer requirements are met. Develops logistics plans and procedures. Prepares various reports indicating equipment status, inventory and shipment dates. Implements asset management, transportation, and procurement processes and procedures. Monitors equipment forecasts against budget. Organizes and handles a variety of logistics issues. Serves as liaison between sales and operations teams to develop concepts and coordinate product knowledge. Provides data analysis for production planning and volume studies, and participates in process/rating improvement efforts. Develops logistics plans and procedures.
The Senior Transportation Operations Analyst will serve as the pinnacle operations strategist of Sprint’s Transportation team. This key position will focus on ensuring optimization, efficiency and economy of the corporate transportation strategy.
The Senior Transportation Operations Analyst will manage execution of the Transportation Management strategy supporting the mission statement of the corporate transportation platform. The analyst will coordinate and champion operational impact and performance efforts across the transportation team’s strategies and systems.
In this role, the analyst will take the lead on implementation of transportation processes while communicating executional impacts of the transportation strategy on business operations.
Sample responsibilities:

  • Daily management and coordination of all support functions in transportation operations including, but not limited to managing compliance of vendor performance against corporate transportation strategy guidelines, troubleshooting systemic issues, processing transportation rate requests, audit and oversight of transportation policy compliance.
  • Review KPI & SLA reports for all transportation operations. Investigate irregularities, in order to report information, identify compliance issues and recommend improvement initiatives, then lead required activities in order to address concerns.
  • Evaluation of transportation lane utilization and performance, inclusive to tariff utilization to identify and recommend focus areas for network optimization
  • Manage and coordinate audits of vendor shipping history to review and improve compliance
  • Create, maintain and communicate Best Practices program for all transportation activities, including but not limited to: Shipping requirements, packaging, transportation requests, labelling, data validation and shipment planning.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts to attack transportation claims.
  • The Analyst role will include a tactical and strategic focus on metadata analytics to support the rest of the transportation management team in Metric management, compliance controls and opportunity identifications.
  • This analyst will combine an operational perspective and industry knowledge with an acute proficiency in data analytics to create strategic insight and control management for the overall transportation performance and portfolio management.
This position can work out of Louisville, KY, Columbus, OH, Fort Worth, TX or Overland Park, KS
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and eight years related work experience or twelve years related work experience post high school
  • Five years inventory experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • A minimum of (5) five years transportation operations experience, including carrier management, transportation analysis and service execution
  • A minimum of (5) five years’ experience in project implementation and serving as a subject matter expert within their area of responsibility
  • Subject Matter Expertise in the Transportation industry, multiple shipping modes preferred
  • Ability to manage operations in a 3PL environment
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities successfully and work independently while demonstrating initiative is required.
  • Engage providers in creating winning strategies and partnerships with providers
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office product software
  • Minimum proficiency in data analytics skills and mastery of data analysis processes
  • 2 years minimum experience with data analytics tools and methods
  • 2 years’ experience with metadata tools preferred
